CORNERSTONE NEWS AND NOTES

SO, WHO IS HOPE'S CALL?

On Saturday, August 26, one of the hottest new gospel groups will be coming to Cornerstone in a free concert billed as "A NIGHT TO REMEMBER" As the group prepares for the concert many are wondering , "Who is Hope's Call?"

Fresh off of one of their biggest albums BRIGHT NEW DAY  the group has two top ten hits under their belt. ( YOU ARE LOVED and SINGING HEAVEN'S SONG) and will be competing  at the National Quartet Convention on September 11-15th. To top off a busy year the group has been nominated for the Sunrise Group of the Year in the 2006 Diamond Awards and has made the final five in the nominations for SINGING NEWS FAN AWARD HORIZON GROUP OF THE YEAR. The ballot is currently in the July issue of the magazine.

Based in Tennessee the family trio consists of mother Donna Beauvais, daughter Jessica, and Jessica's husband Eddie Harrison. Donna's husband Paul Beauvais is road manager and sound engineer. Hope's Call is ministry with a mission to share the hope found in Jesus Christ . Their purpose  is to worship their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and point others to the Cross.

"Being called to share worship and ministry through song is a privilege," states Beauvais. Hope's Call strives to encourage the believer and offers a message of eternal hope to a lost world.

Harrison adds, "The theme that God keeps resonating in our hearts about the ministry is to let people know that they are loved. That is why the song, "You Are Loved" from the latest project is  special to them. It emphasizes how people are loved with no conditions.

"So many people in the world are hurting for many different reasons, but the bottom line is if they can hear that our God loves them and He made a way through Jesus for love, forgiveness, and acceptance, it changes their outlook on everything. In Corinthians it says that love bears all things, believes all things, hopes in all things and endures all " the group states in their biography.

For Cornerstone one area of their ministry may help the church. Even though they sing to all ages they have had an impact on young people.  In 2004 they traveled for 6 weeks with LIFT Student Ministries and saw more than 450 teens come to know Christ as their Savior.

Before coming to Cornerstone the group will be coming off a missions trip to Bolivia with Compassions International. Promising to sing some of the songs that they will perform at the National Quartet Convention, the group will practice and then head to Kentucky for that convention after the Cornerstone concert.

Pastor Dave Mathis is thrilled to have Hope's Call at Cornerstone. "They fit in with our desire to win souls for Christ," he commented. " Plus they appeal to all ages. We expect great things to happen."

Tickets are printed and will be available on Sunday. "We suggest that people get their tickets as soon as they can," Mathis concluded. " Make sure that each ticket gets in the hands of someone who needs to either hear about Jesus or needs a faith booster shot."
